ITPOD Storage Hybrid Line
ITPOD Storage Hybrid (HYB) is a line of hybrid data storage systems designed to handle large amounts of information. These systems combine hard disk drives (HDD) and solid-state drives (SSD), which optimizes access to hot data and efficiently stores data on fast drives.
The use of SSDs significantly increases performance and reduces response times when working with operational data. Thanks to the synergy between HDDs and SSDs, ITPOD hybrid systems offer cost-effectiveness, reliability, and a high level of data availability. ITPOD Storage Hybrid is the ideal solution for companies seeking to increase operational efficiency and improve overall data storage performance.

ITPOD Storage features
RAID-Z (1,2,3) — reliable levels of data protection
RAID-Z stands out from other RAID systems in that it does not have a fixed stripe size, but is based on the size of the logical block of the file system. Each entry in a RAID-Z array is a complete segment, which significantly increases data storage reliability. This system uses diagonal distribution of checksums, which ensures data protection and the ability to recover information in the event of one or more disk failures. This technology allows you to quickly recover both entire disks and individual data blocks. If a checksum discrepancy is detected, the logical error is instantly identified and corrected. Thanks to caching and optimized data access, RAID-Z demonstrates high performance in both reading and writing information.
Thin Provisioning — optimizing performance and extending the service life of SSD drives
Unlike traditional hard drives, SSDs store data in flash memory cells organized into pages. Writing to an SSD is very fast as long as there are free pages available, but slows down significantly when previously written pages need to be cleared. TRIM technology is designed to reduce the impact of garbage collection on write performance, optimizing drive performance and extending drive life.
Snapshots — no impact on performance and independent of volume size
Snapshots protect data on a volume and provide access to stored information in ReadOnly mode, ensuring data integrity and preventing accidental damage or deletion of original data. Creating and deleting snapshots does not affect overall system performance, ensuring uninterrupted operation of applications and services. They allow you to quickly roll back the volume to its previous state, speeding up the recovery process in case of failures or errors.
Inline Compression — space savings and reduced number of write operations
Inline compression reduces the amount of stored data, which saves space and reduces the load on the disk system. This technology protects data from loss or damage, and in the event of a failure, compressed data can be quickly restored because it takes up less space and requires fewer resources to recover. The compression ratio can vary depending on the type of data and the algorithms used, but is typically between 2:1 and 4:1.
Inline Deduplication — optimizing data storage and reducing data volume
Deduplication is performed during the process of writing data to disk, which eliminates duplication of information and immediately frees up space. Depending on the volume and nature of the data being written, Inline Deduplication technology can achieve a deduplication ratio of up to 3:1. This significantly increases space utilization and improves overall system performance.
TRIM (Deallocate) support — optimizing performance and extending the life of SSD drives
Unlike traditional hard drives, SSDs use flash memory cells organized into pages. Writing data to an SSD is fast as long as there are free pages, but slows down when previously written pages need to be cleared. TRIM technology minimizes the impact of garbage collection on write performance. TRIM is an ATA interface command, and in NVMe protocols, the equivalent command is Deallocate, which allows the operating system to notify the drive of unused data blocks that can be freed up.
Thus, TRIM is a modern technology that improves SSD performance, ensuring high performance and long service life. It automatically frees up unused space, preventing a decrease in speed and increasing the reliability of the device.
QoS — workload control and priority distribution
With QoS, storage administrators can manage the prioritization of access to storage system resources, ensuring the necessary level of service for users and applications, preventing unplanned overloads, and protecting key services from degradation.
Monitoring — AutoSupport and performance alerts
The integrated monitoring system provides centralized management of all data storage system components, eliminating the need for constant manual monitoring of equipment status. Automated data collection and instant notifications allow administrators to respond quickly to problems, while the system performs self-diagnostics and flags errors in advance. The interface offers clear performance graphs for each component, facilitating timely identification and resolution of problems, as well as optimization of resource utilization.
Security — role-based access model for system management
ITPOD Storage implements a role-based access model based on assigning specific roles to users. These roles are formed based on organizational structure, functional responsibilities, or a combination of both. This model is one of the most flexible and advanced among existing models for accessing information systems. Before gaining access to resources, users must go through an authentication process (entering a username and password) and an authorization process (verification of the permissions granted).
Ease of maintenance — intuitive graphical web interface
The graphical interface simplifies navigation and management of the data storage system, making the maintenance process more accessible to users with varying levels of technical expertise. It also provides tools for assessing the status of the data storage system, analyzing resource usage, and monitoring performance.
