Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a specialized branch of computer science that aims to create machines with capabilities that mimic or simulate human intelligence. The main goal of AI is to endow machines with intelligent abilities to understand language, learn, analyze, reason and plan.

Classification of Artificial Intelligence

Strict AI (weak AI). A form of AI with limited functionality. It is focused on performing specific tasks, such as voice recognition, and does not cover the full range of human cognitive abilities.

General AI (strong AI). A form of AI suitable for any intellectual task that humans are capable of performing. Such AI has the potential to understand, learn, and apply knowledge to a wide range of tasks.

Foundational principles of AI

Machine learning. The method by which AI systems learn from data, identify patterns, and make decisions with minimal human intervention.

Neural networks. Computing systems based on the neural networks of the human brain. They are designed to replicate the way humans learn and process information.
