Access Control Lists (ACL)
Access Control List (ACL) is an option in VAS Experts DPI designed to create intelligent access control lists. Such ACLs control and manage traffic at higher OSI layers by limiting or allowing access to services, applications, and resources. You have control over both—single users and user groups.
While regular ACLs either allow or deny the usage of certain ports by services or domain names, VAS Experts DPI lists offer more functionality.
Inspect traffic on OSI layers
Inspect packets on higher OSI layers, perform statistical and signature analysis to determine P2P, IM, Email, VOIP apps, video streams, gaming traffic, and encrypted data. Configure access rules for Internet resources.
Redirect using white or black lists
If white lists are used, VAS Experts DPI will redirect users trying to access resources that are not whitelisted.
Balance replenishment via Captive Portal (CP)
If white lists are used, VAS Experts DPI will redirect users trying to access resources that are not whitelisted. The operator needs to whitelist the URLs and protocols of payment systems and online banks. Additionally, access may be granted to the website and resources of the provider’s network, including social networks and alternative resources.
Custom Access Rules
The DPI solution uses white lists and black lists to either allow or restrict user or user group access.
Easy and convenient user identification over Wi-Fi
Often, when connecting to the Wi-Fi, users are asked to identify themselves by phone, passport details or public portal numbers. VAS Experts DPI makes it easier by identifying users with a code sent in via a text message.
