RAIDn

RAIDn (Redundant Array of Independent Disks at level n) is a technology for storing the same data on multiple hard disks. RAIDn can be implemented at different levels, each providing a different balance of performance, data security and storage capacity.

Mechanics of RAIDn
The way RAIDn works is by combining multiple disks into a single logical unit. Data is distributed across these disks in order based on the RAID level. For example, RAID 0 prioritizes performance, RAID 1 and RAID 5 prioritize data protection, and RAID 10 prioritizes a balance of both.

Comparing RAIDn to traditional storage methods
Unlike traditional single-disk storage methods, RAIDn uses multiple disks. This increases storage capacity, increases data security and improves system performance.

Role of RAIDn in data management
RAIDn plays an important role in data management, especially in environments where data protection and system performance are paramount. The technology provides a robust solution that can manage large amounts of data with the ability to recover in the event of a disk failure.
