FAS8200
NetApp FAS8200 is a hybrid storage system with 99% availability and inline compression, compression, and deduplication. Thanks to this feature, FAS8200 allows a significant increase in effective storage capacity. NetApp FAS8200 is designed for use in medium and large corporations, where IT infrastructure costs are minimal and functional requirements are high.

Modern businesses are more than demanding of IT infrastructure, especially in terms of information storage. In addition to fault tolerance, scalability, and high return on every ruble invested in them, storage systems must be easy to integrate with clouds and supported by flash technologies, easy to connect to SAN and NAS, and easy to manage even by non-specialists in the field of storage systems.
The NetApp Model FAS8200 storage solution meets all of these requirements. Plus, the solution is designed for fast-growing companies and gives them high performance application software with a 50% savings in IT budget.
Key benefits of the FAS8200 array
The NetApp FAS8200 runs ONTAP system software, which provides a rich set of information management features. The ONTAP OS unifies data handling and storage management in SAN and NAS environments, enabling secure and transparent data transit between systems (clusters) and clouds using different protocols.
By connecting FAS8200 with all-flash system, you can create clusters to integrate with cloud systems. If necessary, you can transfer data between different media (SAS/SATA mechanical disks, SSD SAS/NVMe flash drives), between clusters at different sites directly or through the cloud.
Such integration allows storage systems to host data in a configuration that provides the optimal balance of storage capacity, flash performance, and efficiency in terms of financial cost and data access speed.
On 2 flash-based systems, application software can run up to 50% more efficiently when compared to previous generations of mechanical disk storage. Latency is also reduced and throughput of such systems is expanded.
Standard configuration of each pair of controllers has 2TB of built-in Flash Cache based on NVMe technology, which can be increased up to 4TB Flash Cache NVMe and up to 48 TB of flash memory (for each pair of controllers) if necessary.
The main plus and difference of this system from similar storage systems – availability of 99% and above: you can update the firmware, install a patch or OS upgrade, repair with replacement of components or maintenance without downtime.
The NetApp FAS8200 is able to provide exceptional data protection when integrated with the NetApp MetroCluster software solution, which enables mirroring across multiple platforms.
